Shinko TF-60S – a new addition to the EWES machine park

What does it feel like to come face to face with the future of Swedish spring manufacturing?

For EWES' machine tool operators Albin and Lisa, the journey went all the way to Osaka, Japan. After a week of hands-on training, they returned home with new knowledge – and an investment that takes automation to the next level.

At EWES, we live by the motto “There is always a WE in EWES”. That means every team member is equally important and offered opportunities to grow – through education, further training, trade fairs and supplier visits. Spring setters Albin Cederquist and Lisa Johansson experienced this firsthand when they travelled to Shinko’s headquarters in Osaka for in-depth machine training. The photos on the right are snapshots from their travel journal.

To learn more about the investment, we spoke to Anders Cederquist, co-owner and Group Development Manager at EWES Group:

“This is an investment we’ve long seen the need for – both to meet our customers’ demands and to further strengthen the EWES Group offering to the market.”

EWES aims to operate one of northern Europe’s most modern machine parks
For several years now, EWES has had a clear goal: to develop one of Northern Europe’s most advanced and competitive machine parks for technical springs. The investment in the Shinko TF-60S is a key milestone in that journey – future-proofing production and meeting the growing demand for quality, efficiency and short lead times.

More efficient production – faster lead times
The Shinko TF-60S is specifically designed for tension springs in larger wire dimensions – from 3.0 to 6.0 mm – and is the largest model in its segment.

For EWES, this means we can now manufacture large-dimension tension springs with full automation, without the need for time-consuming manual operations such as end-looping by hand.

“It’s a natural step that raises the level of automation even for thicker wire. That gives both us and our customers a real advantage,” says Anders.

Built for demanding applications
Tension springs in this size range are typically used in demanding environments – such as trailers and vehicles, heavy industrial machinery, construction and civil engineering equipment, and custom OEM solutions. These are applications where strength, durability and precision are critical – and the right spring makes all the difference.

Unique capability in Europe
The Shinko TF-60S remains a rare sight in Europe – only a handful of machines of this type have been delivered by the manufacturer. For EWES customers, this means access to a unique combination of production capacity, high quality and reliable deliveries.

“We’re doing this for our current customers, but also to take on new enquiries and gain market share. Ultimately, it’s about being a long-term, flexible partner,” Anders concludes.
