EWES takes its first step into the future – backed by a new AI policy
Working smarter with AI is no longer a question of if – but how. At EWES, we’ve developed our first AI policy. It marks the beginning of a broader journey to define how we will use artificial intelligence moving forward.
EU legislation sets the framework – EWES takes the initiative
With a common legal framework, the EU aims to ensure that AI use is safe, responsible and respectful of human rights – while still promoting innovation. For EWES, this means AI must be approached with structure, awareness and long-term vision.
”We want to understand what AI really means for our business”
In a conversation with Anton Svensson, CEO of EWES, we take a deeper look at the company’s view on AI. We begin by asking why the company decided to create an AI policy in the first place.
– First and foremost, we see the policy as a way to start formalising the concept of AI internally. But it’s also a direct requirement from many of our customers – particularly regarding how we share information with third parties.
Anton adds that many companies still seem to bury their heads in the sand, treating AI as a passing trend.
– We believe the opposite. We want to understand what this technology truly means for our business – in practical terms.
From policy to practice – AI becomes part of the business strategy
EWES’ commitment to AI is clear in its future plans. In just a few weeks, the company will hold its first external training course for employees who use AI in their daily work. And starting in 2026, AI will have its own entry in the company’s strategic business plan.
– At that point, AI will become a dedicated line in our budget. While we can’t yet share the exact content, it’s clear to us that developing internal systems to streamline our processes – especially around quality – will be essential.
The new EU regulation, the AI Act, is another strong motivator.
– This is just the beginning. We’re determined to embrace the opportunities AI presents – with responsibility, curiosity and a long-term mindset.
What is the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act is the world’s first comprehensive legislation regulating artificial intelligence. It aims to ensure AI is used safely, ethically and transparently – while promoting innovation and investment.
🔹 AI systems are classified by risk level
🔹 High-risk systems must meet strict requirements for oversight, documentation and safety
🔹 The law applies to all AI providers operating in the EU, regardless of origin
🔹 Implementation begins in stages from 2024 through 2026
